Our Curriculum focuses on preparing the whole child for a well-rounded life through social, creative, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development. Children are taught etiquette and faith-based morals, encouraged to express themselves creatively, learn self help skills, and to communicate their intents and feelings orally. Academically, students learn math and science concepts, social studies, cause and effect, order and organization, phonics, and early reading and writing. Before and after care is also available for school age students. Safety measures are very important. Anyone sick, a child or staff member stays home , everyone receives a temperature check the moment they arrive at Gaur Family Childcare.

How We Learn
Some children learn best through “hearing” activities, some through “visual” activities and some through “hands-on” activities. At Daycare Kids, we focus on matching how we interact with each child to the way each learns best.

Areas of Learning
Throughout the day, we work to provide a mix of activities which will encourage development in a variety of learning areas. We want our children to develop in the following areas:

Word smarts – their ability to use words effectively
Number smarts – the capacity to use numbers and logic effectively
Picture smarts – the ability to perceive the visual and spatial world accurately
Body smarts – the ability to use one’s body to express ideas or produce things
Music smarts – the ability to attend to sounds and remember melodies, rhythms and beats
Nature smarts – the skill to recognize and classify living things
People smarts – the ability to perceive and make distinctions among moods, intentions and feelings
Self smarts – the ability to accurately picture oneself – strengths and limitations, moods, temperaments

PHILOSOPHY
As educators and nurturers of young children, we believe, that the development of each child’s potential is based on a warm, loving environment and a genuine concern for the emerging personality. Through play and hands-on experience, each child will learn about her/him, their society, and their world. This can only be done by providing, on daily basis, various educational activities; freedom for each child to make decisions; and encouragement to experiment and explore the learning avenues.

GOALS
Our goals are to:
1- facilitate in all possible way the development of your child’s self-esteem through a climate of unconditional love, praise, and encouragement
2- provide a safe, secure, and healthy environment
3- enhance your child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and creative development
4- include you, the parent, in this very important part of your child’s life

PROGRAM
Daycare Kids provides a high quality program toward the education of the whole child. We value children as individuals and are committed to providing each child with the opportunity to develop creativity, emotional health, physical abilities, social and interactive skills and cognitive capabilities.
We provide a total developmental program with an emphasis on academics. We believe children learn from play. Play experience provides children with a sense of mastery and self-confidence. This in turn helps the child with the development of a positive attitude toward others. Opportunities for children to have experiences in problem solving and making choices are also part of the daily program. This is the basic foundation on which more complex skill will be built. Daycare Kids places a strong emphasis on daily living skills. We work with the children on developing good manners, listening skills, following directions and staying on tasks.
